 My GP500 Utopia

Joao, well known amongt us once had the following idea, and it is how GP500 looks like in my dreams:

A free open championship for anyone who wants to enter, devided in 3 parts:
- MotoGP
- 250cc
- 125cc
Just as the real guys have a go at their careers!

Though that's not all, now-a-days everybody enters the class he wants to enter often they enter in the MotoGP class because that's the coolest class. And well while we're at it, they'll also join a second class but with less dedication. We have seen in this championship that the field has been devided in to 4 categories:
- MotoGP A-Class
- MotoGP B-Class
- MotoGP Rookies-Class
- MotoGP Overall-Class
Based on your results you get placed in to one of the subcats. In which you can fight for a different championship. I personally like how this works, it motivates you to try harder and win atleast your class. Other successes might follow from this e.g. in points for the overall championship!

GP500 came initially with the 500cc season of 1998, a great game and since 1998 the best motorracing simulation game money can buy (or your internet connection could download) in the world! When I look back at all those years I have spent being part of the Gp500 community (I assume it's been 9 years now) there have been so many changes, ups and downs. With the recent addition of new tracks GP500 has survived it's long journey on the internet and the community has stayed together. So once again to all those who have been contributing to GP500 a very big thank you, also to those who have left in arguments and left in anger about certain issues, and certainly those who have just quit it for numerous of other positive and negative reasons!

Although it never came with a 125cc and 250cc nor a MotoGP package we've all managed to create these for our own purposes, so technology is not an issue.

So the idea is to make the championship as following. The leaders and innitiators of MotoGP500online are like the FIM always have been and certainly will retain being in that position. They are the ones who could start this radical changes.
First off they'd have to quit the format as MotoGP500Online is based now. The individual class systems.  And start of fresh with 3 classes:
- MotoGP
- 250cc
- 125cc
The MotoGP500online counsil decides how many spots are available in all 3 classes so lets say the following:
- MotoGP   13 teams of max 2 riders = 26 spots (also available to privateers)
- 250cc       10 teams of  max 3 riders = 30 spots (also available to privateers)
- 125cc
10 teams of  max 3 riders = 30 spots (also available to privateers)

This brings us to a total of 86 open spots for racers from all over the GP500 Globe which should be more then enough!

Once the number of spots has been set, the ball is at the racers. Since GP500 is not a capitalistic community where payments are required to obtain models it's easy for anybody to get the model they want, which isn't a problem, you should be allowed to race with your favorite model or bike make.

The plan should be that there are a couple of steady, reliable teams with good team managers. Assumable the guys that are able to produce good skins. In the new world it would go as following:

- A modeller makes the bike model
- A skinner obtains a model and starts making a skin
- A Teammanager takes over a skin from the skinner and builts a team
- The Teammanager then knocks on the door of the MotoGP500online Counsil and asks for a spot
- Teammanager puts his team on the entry list and lets his team race.

I'll give you an example I have a team called Banana's. I made the skins for it, and got myself a bikemodel. And my racers get placed in the 250cc championship. One of my racers becomes champion in the 250cc class and next year he'll be looking for a spot in the MotoGP class, maybe I as a teammanager want to have a bike in MotoGP and he stays with me OR he gets picked up (scouted) by a team that's already in MotoGP.  Then Team Banana's 250cc has an open spot, so I as a teammanager start looking around if there's any good riders. A nice thing would be to adopt a rider from the 125cc class.

OK so that's made clear.

This is about the whole Utopia I have in mind, there could be further additions to it  like
Leathers painters with their own brands
Helmet Painters with their own brands
Bike Modellers with their own marks (like Garfield)
and so on...

AND THEN I WAKE UP!

Ciao,
