  News 12/11/06  Round 16. Portugal : Estoril

SFW bounces back in Portugal to take his 4th win of the season.

A fourth victory of the season for SFW was achieved in spellbinding fashion by the Kawasaki rider, who has struggled to come back from a crash at Motegi. SFW took the holeshot and continued to pull away from the pack, at one point 5 seconds ahead of second placed rider SkiDer, who had a rather more difficult time battling with Seby.
In the early stages, Skider led the race thanks to an amazing lap time in qualifying which secured him the pole-position with Seby in second and SFW in third. In the second lap Seby fell down but rejoined the race in third position, 2 seconds behind the leading group. Six laps later Seby fell again while he was in a close battle with SFW. Meanwhile Skider was leading by 4-5 seconds to SFW but a miracle happend, in the penultimate lap, Skider fell down exactly in the same spot as Seby. SFW was the only rider who kept his head down and managed to profit from Skider's and Seby's mistakes to take his first race victory in over 3 months and stop Skider's winning march of 7 victories in a row.
Remarkable finish by Rezist who passed the chequered flag in 12th spot, his best result of the year.

Seby:
"Congratulations SFW, Skider and all who raced.
This has been a sad weekend for me, I fell 2 times in my race. With 4 bikes in the race my game had less fps than offline and I couldnt do 1 good lap during all weekend, I was more than 0.5 slower per lap in official race than in practice. I feel bad because my performance is affected by the PC which doesnt help me anymore, I'll have to upgrade my ram and proc for next year.
The only good thing is that I got podium after I fell 2 times, I dont remember this heppening before to any1 so its a premiere.
The fight for 2nd spot (vice-champion) is also 95% over, with this victory SFW is 16 points in front of me with 1 race to go, I would need a victory and him to finish 8th. I doubt SFW will have a bad race at Valencia, he is the winner from last year and he really loves this track.
I cant wait for next season to start. New physics, some new tracks, a new pc for me, I also have base setups, I'll use the pedals from the begining of the year and much more practice so I'm sure it will be better for me."

rezist:
"hehe Skider and Seby crashed but still made the podium!
WD SFW!!! Victory finally!
12th is a nice surprise for me... looks like I will get my top 30 finish to the season lol.
I really only made one big mistake in the race, on the fast right-hander I went too wide and onto the grass, but I lost probably 3 seconds, not too bad.
But my laptimes (35-36s) were very average, not what I was hoping for... but this is a nice result, I suppose I should thank most ppl behind me for crashing hehe."

Only 21 riders made it to the race, making them all score points for those who raced! WELL DONE!
