Round 3. Spain : Jerez
SFW is at the height of his form
after taking a hat-trick of
victories in this start of the season. Seby was again 2nd
but was troubled by injury while Vouks completed the podium.
Interviews:
SFW Yamaha
England-Netherlands (winner, 17:08.126):
"Veni vidi vici!
GG to Seby, Vouks, Skider and fabbsan for the great race, too bad there
are only 3 podium places but I'm sure we'll have much more great races
with different results. Nice to see Lord Trans back on the track and
very fast aswell.
Amazing race by Seby considering his broken arm and yes I did say there
is no way an invalid would beat me and if Seby didn't made so many
small mistakes he might have. I must say this was one of my best races
ever. The practice didn't go so good and I was a bit too slow but
mostly I couldn't ride consistent laps. Every night i did some laps the
bike felt different and i was having trouble with different parts of
the track and needed different setup then the day before. So I made 5
different setups that would suit the moment i felt before the race and
after the qualifying I've made my choice on the setup and felt
comfortable in the race.
After all these years of racing and success you would think I'm very
calm before the race but we all know the start is very important and my
strategy was to focus on the lights and not to get wide on first 2
corners........... but then when the grid appeared my heart started to
pump adrenelin and I lost the feeling in my arms and legs.. somehow i
got through first 2 corners and then had very good first 2 laps, passed
Fabbsan and then passed Seby on his specially modified Yamaha thats
suitable for psychically challenged riders.
Then I was pretty much in control of the race, not that I could go much
faster but Seby couldn't close the gap and I didn't want to push harder
and risk making big mistakes.
This is obviuslly a very good start of the season for me and I never
thought i would have 27 points lead after 3 races.
But I must admit these 3 races I also won last year and they suit me
well and still Seby was the man to beat before the race. Next race
we'll see how it go's but the first points are mine for sure.
My team did again good, GVG did a good job on his bad track and Dolz
picked up some good points. Bradders couldn't fix his pc in time to
race, we hope you come back soon (together we are stronger) and TT98
surprised us by scoring good points ( not bad for the official team
test/development rider)."
Seby Lords Of
Shadow (2nd, 17:08.911):
"Congratulations SFW, 3rd win pfoaa, very good and from what i've seen
on track also very easy and a bit lucky. Also good race by Vouks and
first podium at Jerez, gg m8.
Skider also very close to the podium and getting very fast race by
race, first at +5 sec, then +3 and now at +2 seconds, soon it will be
your time, i'm sure of it.
fabbsan consistent in top5 which is very good for you, i know you want
that first podium so much but good things happen to patient people. We
all had to wait for our objective to come true.
Transalp a good come back, 7th place brings some good points for our
team so thx and keep up the good work. Gabi46 and Guishermo, i was
hoping for better but that's racing, one race we fall, the next on the
podium. Also very good for Mircea, one of the top riders for Class A
this year.
rezist 13th which is good, with a bit more practice maybe you could
catch the top10. That's the best example for never giving up hope,
every single rider can do better and better, even after all these
years. Maybe you feel that you didn't improve but you did, your hot lap
is only 1.7s slower and at Motegi 2.2 slower, compared to 4 seconds
last year and that's even closer than what you did at PI. If that's not
improvement i don't know what is.
Also gg to Guigui for his first points in our championship, gg.
Creisi with some bad luck there, some problems at the start of the race
made it all go to waste, tho you were very fast so far and i'm sure
you'll be up there in the next races, don't give up m8.
Atman, finally that 20th place and first point, gg.
For me it was a very hard week, i fell at football and i have a small
fracture near the elbow, in the upper part. The pain was bad and i
couldn't sleep on Friday but after i went to the hospital the pain went
away. The bad part was that they put all my arm in ghips, from fingers
to shoulder. No pain since then but it's very hard to write or to hold
the mouse and of course very hard to play gp500. I use my right hand
for steering the bike left-right and shift the gears down. I was still
fast but i was making too many mistakes, sometimes the fingers slipped
off the buttons etc. Same story in my official race, i made too many
mistakes and each time SFW made a mistake, i also made one lol.
Compared to practice i think i lost 4-5 seconds with mistakes. This is
what i regret the most, before the arm problem i was doing very well, i
could do 32s in 9 laps from 11 and pb was 32.3 with soft-med. With no
mistakes the total time could have been around 17:04. Only bad things
have happened to me in this start of the season but i never give up and
i'll try to turn the wheel around and fight hard each time. I hope my
arm will be ok for the Le Mans race so we can have another good race.
Sorry for the long post but it's hard to do anything else because of
this ghips, no mouse so i focus on the keyboard."
Vouks MVM
Racing Team (3rd, 17:10.396):
"GG Sfw, GG Transalp, GG Seby!
Every race more and more riders take part, that's very good and a bit
different from past years when more riders start and less play all
year, i hope will stay like this in 2009.
About MVM team... it's only the start i am sure we will improve.
See you all in Le Mans."
Skider NoGrip
Racing (4th, 17:10.641):
"Congratulations SFW for hat-trick, also Seby the "mofo hand rider"
haha for well deserved 2nd place (imagine what he can do with both
hands... hahah) also gg for Vouks for podium.
I was confident about this race cuz I did good practice few days before
the race and I expected a better result but I didn't do more practice
until the official race so I lost little bit pace. The race was not
good, I started not so bad but on the first moments everybody overtaken
me and i was slow at the start of the race (as always lol). The leaders
Sfw and Seby opened a gap between fabbsan, Vouks and me right on the
first lap, I was fighting with fabbsan during 2 laps for 3rd place but
Vouks came right to my tail after that, he could pass me and scape a
little bit but I was sure if I'd be close to him on the last laps I
could get the podium position.
It was so hard to concentrate cuz Vouks has always lag and I didn't
know where he was exactly, on the straights I had his slipstream but
never could take advantage cuz he was half a second forward in real
time. I did few mistakes on the middle of the race and couldn't do my
pace but on the last laps I was close to Vouks and crossed the line in
front of him on the last lap but it was just virtual podium... pity.
Anyway I'm happy cuz I begin to be competitive race by race so if I do
a good race I can be up there fighting for podium (maybe victory? nah
lol)."
fabbsan
Motonline Racing Team (5th, 17:14.529):
"GG again to SFW, Seby & Vouks for podium, also to Skider all these
riders still fastest than me.
I'm ok about my final result but i know i can do better. My start was
good in the race, i was third at the end of the first lap, but in the
second lap i didn't taken the good pace i was able to do, then 2
stronger riders than me overtook me and i never could join them until
the end of the race.
I make too many mistakes during official races, that's why i can't
still pretend to a podium in this way, but i know i can do it, i just
need more practice with fast riders to be stronger all long a race. See
you in Le Mans, my home race."
Guishermo
Lords Of Shadow (9th, 17:27.258):
"GG unstoppable SFW, also to Seby with his injury and to Vouks, well
done m8s
My race was not to bad after so little practice, i started Sunday
afternoon so i couldn't do nothing special... In the race i did one of
the best starts i remember but i was overtook quickly by faster
riders... i was doing my pace and doing a decent race when i did a very
silly mistake, touched the sand and fell... after that i only wanted to
finish my race with no mistakes and the 9th place is ok... My goal
right now is to catch the top guys and get points for the team
standings, i know i only need great loads of practice so i hope i can
do the gap more little...
See you next race."
GVG Yamaha
England-Netherlands (11th, 17:28.077):
"Congratulations to SFW and Seby! And to Mircea because he was just a
bit to strong for me in race!
In qualifying I was fastest in my room, but only did a 34.1. The
practice before i did a 33.9 and was on course for 33.4 when i made
mistake.
The race was not so bad. I took the lead and Mircea followed. After a
few laps at the front Mircea took over and i followed the whole race.
Sometimes i could get in front of him but he just was stronger. At the
last 2 laps i felt a bit faster but it was still very hard to get in
front of him. Then at the last turn i was very close to him and he made
a mistake. In the last corner i overtook him but he had a better drive
out of there and beat me with 1 tenth of a second.
I still ride very stressed and didn't ride comfortable at all. It are
just nerves that i have only in official. When i control that and when
i am more consistent, i'm sure i will be faster!
An 11th place is ok, after a 10th and 12th place but now it's time to
go in top 10!
See ya all at Le Mans, were the battle continues!"
rezist Rezist
Racing Yamaha (13th, 17:32.653):
"Yesssss! take that Dolz!
This must be my best start to the season ever (apart from missing the
first race lol), maybe the physics suit me or something because i
havent really improved lol, just the rest of you have gotten slower
lol...
I have got a much faster PC this year, maybe that has something to do
with it...
again my qualifying was a disaster lol, i just couldn't do a clean
lap.... i was hoping for a 34.2 but was nearly half a second slower...
I was kind of aiming to finish ahead of Dolz based on the test times,
and it all went smoothly in the race as i said before, no grass or big
mistakes, and 13th is up there amongst my best results ever!
Now for Le Mans, not one of my favorite tracks but we'll see how it
goes well done to SFW, is the championship over yet? lol
Btw what is the record for consecutive victories? time to apply some
more pressure hehe.
Seby and Vouks very consistent, nice work."
SPIDEY Team
Sask Ducati (26th, 18:04.626):
"GG Seby, a broken hand did not stop u from nearly winning the race.
My race was quite terrible, Zero practice, means i dint even know how
to ride. I have had a few busy weeks, plus tampering with my computer
did not help as i searched for drivers to setup my controller correct.
As for my race, 2 crashes sums up my race. With the 20 secs lost there,
i sure could have been in the points. Anyways, i look forward to some
practice for once hopefully for the next race.
GG everyone, nice going GVG, Rezist, Snik, JC. And nice to see Skider
race.
Dandam i don't see u in results, but i know u were very busy. We are
nearing ur home race, better be ready. Joey [Current Class C champion]
seems to be undergoing some chronic computer troubles maybe. I hope to
hear from u my friend."
