  News 28/06/2009  Round 7. Dutch : Assen

Vouks took his first victory of the season at Assen. Seby and Guishermo completed the podium.

Interviews:
Vouks MVM Racing Team (winner, 16:57.392):
"Hi and thx all...
GG to podium guys and of course to Seby who take the lead in standings. GG Skider for Pole. Gui what is your problem with my lap m8? we all can do 41.2 with 1 hand lollolol. Ok Ok sure it's a super lap and i was worried that i started the race with softs .The only way i can explain is that i did try hard to escape from Seby, even i was looking on screen to check if that's true and lost my 3rd lap.
About MVM, Mgr getting stronger every race and he is close to find the way to podium and maybe why not to win. SK also do very good races with podiums in his class, but i wish him all the best to catch his dream to go in top 20.
See you all in Laguna where there will be some DOGS to fight hard and that is the right thing to do of course."

Seby Lords Of Shadow (2nd, 16:57.525):
"Congratulations Vouks for the superb victory and hot lap, also gg to Guishermo for top3 finish.
Also good races for Mircea in 9th and Pity in 19th, good work guys.
About my weekend at Assen, there's not much to say. I've never been the fastest on this track model and i knew it was going to be a hard race. Practice was kind of bad, unconsistent lap times and also kind of slow compared to others. By Sunday i was a bit faster, i didn't have the best lap time but i could do a good total time. I was doing consistent 31.5 - 31.8 and even with some mistakes i did 2 races in 16:55 while hosting others. I guess 16:53 was possible but i would have been happy with 16:55 in my official race. I hosted Vouks earlier on Sunday and we had a nice fight, in his 2nd lap he did 31.2 and i couldn't believe it, i was very surprised, must have been one of those amazing lap times which happen only once a year. I still wanted to put some pressure on Vouks but he was 1 second in front after that lap, slowly but surely i caught up to him and we did some good laps together but i didn't want to ride through him so we won't hit each other. In the last lap i stood right behind him and a part of me wanted to pass him but the other part didn't because i remember from the past, for example at Indianapolis last year, i beat him in his official race but i made mistakes in my official. I was superstitious but i guess it didn't help me too much.
In qualifying i did my best lap in 31.565 but it wasn't enough to take the pole. The official race started and i wanted to escape right from the first corner and i did that but only for 2-3 more corners, Guishermo came very fast and i had to fight with him. I looked back and i didn't see SFW, i was a bit surprised and i guess that stressed me even more, i knew i had to do a great race so i can get more points. Back to the fight, I didn't mind Guish was so fast this time and i could have accepted if he went in front of me but what really annoyed me was the fact that none of us could escape and that fight slowed us both down and i guess because of each other we both lost the race. I guess that's the story, when 2 fight for something, the 3rd gets it. After few laps of fighting of Guish i got lucky and he made a small mistake so i could be alone at the front. I knew i lost much time by mid race and i knew i could win it if i did a good second part of the race. The problem was that i couldn't go fast, i was doing 1:31.9 - 1:32.0 no matter how hard i pushed. I don't know why i didn't go faster because i knew i could, i guess i was too stressed because i was fighting with the time, with Vouks' time, not with a bike on the track when it's easy to see where it is. With 2 laps to go i was sure i lost the race to Vouks and i didn't push so hard, i was just saving the result, to finish 1st in my room. When i saw my total time i couldn't believe my eyes, i realised i lost the race by only 0.1 or 0.2. If i knew this during the last laps i would have pushed much harder and i think i could have taken the win. I was very disappointed after the race, no pole, no hot lap, no victory, that's what i consider a disaster of a race. Sure a 2nd place, but i have so many 2nd places or 3rd places that i don't even care about them. The only good part after this race is that i took the standings lead but i'm trying not to think too much about the standings right now.
What i'm happy with is that in 2007 i recovered 31 points to Skider in 4 races, now i recovered 35 points to SFW in 3 races so i guess anything is possible.
I'm satisfied because i still remain the rider with the best results in Assen: 2 wins, 3 second places and 3 poles from 6 races.
Next track Laguna, a track i've always liked and where i took victory in 2007, my only victory at Laguna, tho i was very fast in 2006 when i lost by 0.3 or last year when i fell while leading the race. This year i want victory nr 2 at Laguna and like Vouks said, i'll fight like a dog to get it."

Guishermo Lords Of Shadow (3rd, 16:58.109):
"GG Vouks for the victory, were tied now in total victories. Also GG to Seby for the strong 2nd position even you're not very happy about it.
I'm satisfied with my result because till the race day i didn't find the right pace in this track, i was feeling quite slow in the little practice i did... But during the afternoon i found better lines and was able to clock in 32 low 31 high... In the race the start was quite good and i had a big fight with Seby in the first laps (i tried as much as possible not do risky passing moves because we already have had anti-coll bug in the first corners), but did two mistakes (went wide in the fast chicane because of the slipstream and after that my pad did a strange thing, in the last chicane i went a little bit wide and when i tried to turn left quickly my pad didn't turned and lost pretty much time), then fabbsan overtook me and had our own battle for the second... i could escape when he did a mistake and did a little run-off, when i overtook him i tried to stay focused and do my pace. i started to catch Seby but it was too late and finished in front of me without the mistake of the fucking pad i suppose i could have won the race and thats why i don't feel completely satisfied, but sometimes these things just happen. congrats to Vouks, and i agree SFW, tell us how the hell you did 31,2 with soft-med... i think he's cheating (joking)."

Skider NoGrip Racing (4th, 16:59.246):
"Congratulations Vouks for ur win, Seby for championship lead and Guishermo for a very good race (good to see u again fighting on the top).
My hopes for this race were not many cuz I don't like this track, actually I think the old assen was one of the best tracks in the world for being the only not made by computer, it had a combination of fast corners and hairpins that were very funny to ride on. This new assen cant be called "Assen", its completely another circuit in my opinion, they just wanted to modify it like new generation tracks.
My race was very slow compared to practice, I could ride a good pace here but on the official race I did many mistakes, we started the race and got a bad start, I was the last on the first corner, I saw SFW going wide to the gravel and lost concentration, right on the next sector I braked too late at the chicane after the back straight and lost the contact with the front group Seby, Guishermo and fabbsan, I tried to recover the time lost but I still was very slow, SFW came behind me very fast and I wanted to stop him, I had to do different lines and put some pressure on him to force a mistake, I think I did it cuz he couldn't overtake me in the next few laps. Then I saw fabbsan and Guishermo fighting for 2nd place and wanted to close down the GAP, I pushed very hard to scape from SFW and catch them, finally I could overtake fabbsan and follow Guishermo but he did a very good pace on the last laps and was no way to catch him, I slowed down cuz I knew it was impossible to catch him unless he makes a mistake but he didn't so I was alone between Guishermo and fabbsan, I had no fights at the end of the race, just saw the battle between SFW and fabbsan behind me. I didn't expect that SFW will lose so many time at the end. Anyway this is racing.
One thing I want to say is when you race online, gap and riders on track visually aren't real, its just fictitious, I mean if you are fighting with somebody, you need to be half a second forward to be sure you are in front of him. The only rider you can be sure is not delayed is the host. I remember past years when the lap times and bikes on track were more close, not so delayed as now. What can we do about that? maybe new bike models? new tracks? we all got better connections than before so its weird... I think everybody experienced what I'm talking about, I just don't enjoy racing like that."

fabbsan Motonline Racing Team (5th, 17:00.254):
"GG Vouks for your fist victory this year and GG too for Seby leading the champ now and GG to Guishermo2T on the podium again.
I'm surprised about my result because i wasn't fast enough on this track, after qualify i thought finish last in race because i couldn't ride under 1.32.0. But in race everybody were slow and i could fight with Guish2T for the third place, we had a really nice fight thx m8! but we hit a lot in this race together, anti-col wasn't good here, one time we hit and i couldn't keep gas in exit of a corner, Guish left and i lost the contact with him. After i made many mistakes and especially in this fucking last chicane, couldn't cross it well, Skider overtook me and got the 4th place. SFW overtook me too but i could passed him again after he made mistake too in the last lap.
I hope i'll have not anti-col problem for the next race, i know many rider have it, this time was for me, i'll try to be front of you to avoid it."

SFW Yamaha England-Netherlands (6th, 17:00.779):
"Congratulation to Vouks with the win, gg to Seby with the strong race and good to see Guishermo back on podium.
In general this wasn't the best race weekend for me. With these phisics the track isn't fun to ride on so it was difficult to do some good practice.
The start of the race was terrible..... i went wide on first corner and lost 2 sec there. I could close the gap to Skider pretty fast but Skider was very laggy to me and when i got close to him it affected my game and slowed my pace. It felt like hitting a wall and I wasn't able to pass him. i was hoping that Skider could go a bit faster and take me to the leaders but no such luck and when I tried to force my way through I got hit by no-coll and again lost some ground. When fabbsan made a mistake Skider and I could get in front of him but then then lag from Skider and fabbsan made it even harder for me so made a mistake myself and fabbsan got in front of me again. Btw wtf happened there Vouks with that hot lap, tell us where did you cut the track to make that time. Next race Laguna is always been my worst track of the season, we'll see how it will go this time."

Mircea Lords Of Shadow II (9th, 17:11.109):
"Vouks congratulations for victory but also GG to Seby and Guishermo for podium. GVG did again a good race GG. I found a pretty good setup for Assen what made me feel great in the race, we had some action with Thunder was nice, but I am happy for the third victory in Class A which is good for me. This year as GVG said, we fight for the title in Class A which motivates me even more from last year, but JC and Dolz are not very far. I hope for Laguna to make a good race, as well as last year with DanDam, and then see what will be."

GVG Yamaha England-Netherlands (10th, 17:11.949):
"Congratulations to Vouks for his win!
Looking back at this race i think it was my best one looking at the results. Another 10th place and only 14 secs behind! The gap to the front is closing! At Qatar it was 20 secs, than it reduced to 16 and now i'm 14 secs behind, so i'm happy with that process.
However the race was not so good. I couldn't do decent lap times, low 33's but i was far from consistent. I didn't practiced that much but in practice my best lap was 33.0! I had a hard time getting in 32 but in official race i did two 32.8. I'm happy about that but i also did some 33.8 and i think with more consistency i could have been 8th.
No victory in A class but again best rookie and still leading both titles. Also still 8th in the overall standings but Mgr and Mircea are coming. Mircea is going to be my biggest opponent this season, i think, so i'm looking forward to that battle!"

rezist Rezist Racing Yamaha (17th, 17:27.955):
"Well done Vouks and we have a new Championship leader!
Nice job all, and Skider with the pole position.
As for me, i was just too slow this time lol.
I had a good race (no big mistakes) but i just couldn't go fast enough lol, i watched Snikolaus slowly ride away into the distance this time... hopefully Laguna will be more friendly to me."

Atman Asica Racing Team (18th, 17:30.543):
"About my race: In first lap I was very nervous again, I rode behind JC and I forgot breakpoint, brake too late and Pity overtook me. I lost contact to Erol, but after I rode very fast and it was gap only 3 seconds in the whole race to Erol. It was again good race, thanks again m8s, with many actions, at last Jors in focus. Pity, that Guigui didn't start with us due to Pity, it would be sure great battle between you both."

Pity Source Team (19th, 17:48.320):
"First of all, I am very happy from my first points (19th place in Assen). And to race: it wasn't action race for me, I tried first lap to race safety, without mistakes. During the race I made two little mistakes, but, no change in sequence. Atman was before me of many seconds, and I had also many seconds on the competitors behind me. So it was a little boring race, but I finished 5th in group A, and it was possible the best, because, I hadn't speed like guys before me. Now, I hope, that I take some points in Qualify Award, because, BMW is also prestige show. What about Laguna? I haven't been race in Laguna, because this track wasn't in Czech Team Championship last year.  So it will be premiere to race in Laguna for me. We will see, I try to take another points for my championship. I also hope, that the participation in the next races will be better then Assen. I hope, that Holy will solve the technical problem."

sk18 MVM Racing Team (21st, 17:49.729):
"Hi to all! BRAVO VOUKS for the win GREAT PERFORMANCE!
First win for MVM AND MORE TO COME!!!!
I expect more from Mgr, he was SUPER in practice.
Congrats to Guishermo SUPER RACE fighting great with Seby.
Very good PITY, he is in good form.
It was a good race for me, i think ASSEN is a very hard track, I'LL BE BACK.
See you all at LAGUNA, time to take my FIRST WIN in my class."

JORS666 Team Jors Cambrils (22nd, 18:02.477):
"Yes, good race and very fun actions... but i have problems with my pc when run cause make small speed ups. It's very difficult do the corners and at Assen these problems were concentrated at the last chicane, but nice race even with those problems (remember that i run for fun).
Sorry XavieRRR for passing you at the last corner. It seems like Valentino at Montmelo ha ha."
