Round 15. Australia : Phillip Island
Seby took
his 9th victory of the season and only needs 2 points from the last 2
races to take his first MotoGP title. Skider and fabbsan completed the
podium while SFW was only 4th.

"Congratulations Skider and fabbsan for podium finishes. Also GG GVG
and Erol for 5th and 9th, very good.
Practice went pretty good but not great. In practice we were 3-4 riders
who could do similar lap times and similar total time. We had few good
practice races with great fights and the hot laps were in high 23s with
total time usually in 15:31. My best in practice was 23.6, a bit faster
than the rest but i knew that wasn't going to matter in the official
race.
Qualifying came and i couldn't do a great lap, i did some decent laps
but not a great one and i missed the pole, again very close battle for
the pole, gg fabbsan for your first pole.
The official race started and i had a mediocre first lap, i was behind
SFW. Second lap was very bad, i did many small mistakes and i was also
hit by fabbsan, i didn't lose much but the lap time was 24.4, which was
very slow for the pace we were supposed to do. In the 3rd lap i hit
fabbsan so i took my revenge lol, sorry m8. Then the next 3 laps were
again pretty slow, SFW had opened a 1 second gap and i was trying to
escape from fabbsan and Skider who were stressing me but i couldn't
escape. 6th lap came and i think that was the decisive lap of the race,
i managed to escape from fab and Skid and also catch SFW who was 1 sec
in front, all in 1 lap. It wasn't an amazing lap, 23.8 but it was
enough to give me confidence and stability for the rest of the 5 laps.
I passed SFW in the last corner and i pushed hard in the next lap. I
didn't do great lap times but i was very consistent in 23.9-24.0 till
the end of the race. That helped me to build a 1 second gap to the rest
of the guys who were fighting for 2nd place. I guess their fight helped
me, they were fighting each other and losing time because of that while
i had a clear track in front of me and could stay focused and do
consistent lap times. I wanted to take it easy in the last 2 laps but i
couldn't, i was stressed and i pushed very hard and i was a bit lucky,
i didn't make any mistakes so i could finish the race in front of my
rivals.
In a way i'm a bit sad because i was hoping SFW to finish 5th so i
could take the title here at Phillip Island, i couldn't make him crack
2 times when he re-raced (he had big no-coll incident in our race). He
made a mistake and lost 3-4 seconds but it wasn't enough, i needed him
to finish behind Guish but that didn't happen because Guish fell at the
end of the race and the same for Vouks. Well no problem, they have
helped me in many races this year so thanks for that.
It's my first ever victory at Phillip Island and the feeling is very
good. It's also the first race in many years when i am faster in the
official race than in practice (15:29.6 in official and only 15.30.9 in
practice). For that reason i consider this my best race of the season,
not the hardest but the only one in which i was faster than practice
(which is maybe the most important thing for me). This is my 2nd worst
track from the calendar after Brno and i won both of them, i'm very
happy about it and now i'm finally convinced that i deserve the title.
In the past, even when i was leading the standings, i never thought i
deserve to win the title.
I was lucky, good in some races but per total Skider and SFW were
always better. Now i feel i am better than them and this motivates me
every race and i can be more calm and be better every race, improve all
the time.
I'm also very happy because Lords of Shadow are champions again, 3rd
year in a row. Same as before, we want to continue winning in the
future so each year we sign a top rider, which will be the case for
2010 too. I know it's killing the competition but the riders realize we
have been the best for 3 years in a row and they want to take part of
the team and be winners too. I welcome fabbsan to the team for next
year. Most important thanks Transalp for bringing this team to the top,
4th in 2005 and 2nd in 2006 and for winning the title in 2007. Also
many thanks to Guishermo for helping us win the title in 2008 and 2009.
At the end of 2010 i would like to say the same thing to fabbsan so
keep up the good work, i'm sure your first victory will come and we
will take another title as a team next year. Welcome to the family. The
line-up for next season is: Seby, Guishermo and fabbsan. The only
regret is that LuKe and Gabi461 had pc problems and couldn't play too
much this year, if they will come back next year one of them will be in
the main team. Good competition for the 4th spot in the team between
Luke, Gabi and Trans. 6 good riders for 4 spots in the best team,
looking good. Dream team.
Back to this year, of course i would like to take the title with a
victory but we'll have to wait and see. Of course i'll fight like a mad
dog to win the race but it also depends what SFW and the rest can do at
Sepang. I'm sure we're going to see some good battles, that's always
the case at Sepang, i remember in 2006 i fought with Skider till the
last corner of the last lap and he won by only 0.3s. Last year the
fight was until the finish line, i won by only 0.010s. Good luck to all

Skider NoGrip
Racing (2nd, 15:30.716):
"GG Seby and fabbsan for podium.
I did good practice during the week and I knew I had a good pace to
fight for podium cuz I was always fast at PI. I tested different
settings for the race but I didnt feel big difference between them on
track, always similar laptimes, pace was good but not the fast as I
wanted. This track gave me a title 2 years ago and I wanted to fight
for the win.
The qualyfing was good, I did a good lap but wasnt enough to get the
pole, gg to fabbsan.
About the race I expected a close battle here against Seby, SFW and
fabbsan, I didnt make a good start, SFW got the lead with Seby, fabbsan
and Vouks behind, I wanted to push to pass them quickly and catch SFW
as soon as possible but we were doing the first part of the race side
by side with Seby, at 4 or 5 laps 2 go Seby did the move and overtook
SFW to get away, I did some mistakes and I lost contact with him so I
couldnt get away with him, I got a hit by SFW at the main straight and
almost crashed in the wall LOL. Finally I could get away from him but
Seby was too far already, I tried to do my best and put some pressure
on him doing the fastest lap of the race, we were 1.1 sec GAP and I
could close down to 0.7 sec at 2 laps to go but Seby was very
consistent. Per total I cant be dissapointed about the race, 2nd place
is good but this was probably my last chance to win a race this year
cuz Sepang is WET (nightmare in this track) and Valencia is not one of
my best tracks so I'll try to finish the championship doing good at
least.

SFW Yamaha

"Congratulation to Seby with the win and also Skider and Fabbsan very
strong podium finish. A big congratulation to GVG with very strong race
and good result.
For me the race weekend didn't go that well, the practice went ok but
Ive always felt a bit slow and in the qualifying I was a little bit
slower on soft tyres but that was fine by me because i knew then i had
the pace to fight for the win.
The start of the race was good this time and I was leading the pack on
the first lap and despite the battle behind me I couldn't get away that
easy but after few laps I had about one sec advantage but then half way
in the race my game started to run a bit slower and it was hard to ride
good lines. I did 2 poor laps and Seby could get past quite easy and
also Skider got in front of me. then I had some nice battle with Skider
but then No-coll started to take control of my race. First hit was on
the main straight where both me and Skider got a hit, then next lap
again on the straight a little hit and then a huge hit on first corner
threw me wide and just managed to stay on track but lost a place to
fabbsan, then caught up with fabbsan and got a slipstream on the
straight and again a huge hit on first corner threw me up in the air
and out of the track in the wall. We were already on the last lap of
the race so the race was over for me and I had to race again later.
My 2nd race went initially good, all the podium guys were afraid that i
was going to beat them so they were there to slow me down as much as
possible. lol
Again we had some good racing but then I've made a mistake on the fast
left corner and missed the line for braking to the hairpin and went on
grass, i think I've lost about 3-4 sec there and also Guishermo got in
front of me. next laps I was doing well to close the gap to Guish but
then he crashed and I rode alone the last 2 laps.
Next race I hope for better luck.........will need it for sure in the
wet."
GVG Yamaha
England-Netherlands (5th, 15:41.416):
"Oh yeah!
I'm so happy! 5th place!
Before i even start to practice i said to myself; I'm going for top 5
at the Island. Knowing that it was very hard and almost impossible to
achieve that. But i did it! Great, just great. I had such a good race,
enjoyed it very much.
I had a good start again from second row and was fighting at the front
for the first laps. Lap times were not as good as in practice but that
was the lag, so i've been told. But i was very consistent and
eventually won my session. I did a new personal best race time and also
my hot lap was my best. Qualifying went not as good. I didn't get a
good lap on soft/soft but what the hell. In the race the points are
given. Mircea and JC ended far behind me, not used to that. I beat some
top riders and that feels very good. The chances of winning the A-class
are a bit higher but 18 points in two races is much! So, we'll see.
Next time is Sepang, another circuit i like, but it will not be easy.
However the field is small, the competition is very strong.

"GG Skider and fabbsan for podium and because you 2 try very hard to
brake this 2 damn fast boys (Seby-SFW). Of course congratulation to
Seby for another win and looks that this 4th place from SFW let us see
some T-Shirts with Nr.1 in Malaysia. Seby win, fab take pole, Skid have
hot lap, very good for champ i think...
I have a question now about A, B, C classes from this champ, my feeling
is that the riders don't try and train very hard to be faster and go up
and level with best riders from this champ. Maybe i am wrong but my
feeling from the posts and results is that. Of course is good to beat
the first from your class but there is more riders in front that you
can BEAT... i say again that maybe i am wrong but for sure i wait for
some posts..."

I'm frustrated with my race, mostly because i was doing a good job but
with the problems i have with my pad controller it's impossible to keep
concentrated when the bike suddenly goes straight in the middle of the
corner... i'm sick and tired of this crap.

"9th!! OMG I can't believe it! I'm very happy with the race i've
done!!!!
Well it was a funny race but also I was very concentrated because a
little mistake in Phillip makes you crash or lose many seconds. I've
made a perfect race, for me, I tried to escape and I was successful, 8
seconds in front of my rivals... I can believe it!!!
Perhaps I could go a little bit fast, but nervous of being first don't
let me. Nice race, but I couldn't see what happened behind me lol.
I'm very very happy, my first Top10 in the championship in my first
year, so I don't expect this in the starting of the season but now I
see it's possible.
In Sepang I'll try to push more strong and do the best I can.

"GG for GVG! good race and for Seby ... I am a little disappointed
because I had a good chance to win in Class A because I really like
this circuit but that's racing and should not make a tragedy out of it.
I'm just one point behind JC in class A, and there are two races let,
anything can happen. I know JC is eager to win as I do, GVG is not far
away but anything can happen and at the end of the second race we'll
know where each of us will be. Good luck to all!"

Racing Yamaha (14th, 16:00.264):
"Well, that was a total disaster for me lol! Snikolaus and I both
crashed at MG corner on lap 1... he went to pass me on the inside and i
got a fright and lost the front... See, i told you i can't handle
pressure very well lol.
I was fast enough to possibly finish 8th (which would have been a
personal best) or 9th again if that whole incident never happened and
Snikolaus didn't crash either... so after that i lost all my motivation
and just cruised around, i didn't want to crash again...so my lap times
were not good... and Snikolaus passed me with 2 laps to go.
I'll just have to wait for next year now lol, this track is always my
best chance for a good result.
Well done to Seby... only needs 2 points in the last 2 races it's in
the bag!

Statistics:
In the
Rider
Standings, Seby has extended his lead to 58 points to SFW. This was
Seby's 9th victory of the season and he only needs 2 points from the
final 2 races to take the World Title. Vouks is in 3rd position, just
10 points
ahead of Skider. fabbsan completes
the top5, 20 points behind Skider and Guishermo is 6th, 34 points
further down.
Lords Of
Shadow became the Team Champions, they have a 136
points lead in front of main rivals Yamaha
England-Netherlands. Further 106 points
down are Motonline Racing
Team. MVM Racing Team are 20 points
behind them and NoGrip Racing completes the top5,
4 points behind.
Yamaha are already the Constructors Champions but that didn't stop them
from taking victory number 14 from 15 races. They lead Kawasaki
by 143 points. Suzuki
are 3rd at 166 points behind Yamaha while Ducati
and
Honda complete the top 5.
Join us in 2 weeks time for the 16th race of the season at Sepang,
in Malaysia.
