Round 17. Valencia : Ricardo Tormo
Seby ends the season with a great
victory at Valencia, this was his 10th win of the season.
Interviews:
Seby Lords Of Shadow (winner,
16:16.853):
"After all these great years I finally became Number #1.
A little history from previous years:
This was my goal since i first joined the championship in 2004. Reading
GVG's comment reminded me of my first season here. I started from 22nd
position in the Irta test and 16th in my first ever race at Johor, then
i started to improve, 10th, 7th, 5th, 2nd and at the end of the year
victory at the same Johor. Finished the year 4th in my rookie year, the
following year was very bad, i was 10th, i didn't practice so it was
obvious i didn't deserve better. Final race of the season at Valencia
was better, i was 4th. For a keyboard rider 4th at Valencia is a great
result so i was happy. 2006 was better, again like a rookie year, i
changed the acceleration from keyboard to pedal and that made me much
stronger, took 2 wins and 9 podiums, taking victory number 1 at
Valencia in the last race of the year. I was finally ready for the big
fight. 2007 started with mixed results but in the middle of the year i
surprised even myself by taking 5 wins in a row. After that i lost the
fight with Skider due to stress and front tyre grip (braking with
keyboard made the front go red much sooner). But Skider was anyway
better, he was double world champion. Again i finished the year on a
high with victory number 2 at Valencia. 2008 came and this time i was
100% sure i was going to finally beat Skider. I stopped being stressed
in the races and i was confident of beating the great Skider, my
mistake was that i was too confident and i didn't pay too much
attention to SFW. He took 3 wins out of the first 4 races and after
that i could catch him up, by 8th race we both had 4 wins each but i
couldn't keep consistency, i had 2 crashes in the US, Laguna and Indy,
races which i could and should have won. SFW was better but the
distance between us should have been smaller. I've managed tho to
finish the season with another 2 wins, taking also victory number 3 at
Valencia.
This year:
I knew it was going to be another epic battle with SFW, a battle which
started back in 2004 at Johor, i took my first ever victory after
fighting with SFW till the last corner of the last lap.
Back to our time, even from WSS i've changed to braking with a pedal,
after all these years of braking with keyboard. I didn't have the speed
i had by braking with keyboard yet but i was confident about improving.
In general i'm not a superstitious guy but when it comes to gp500, i
sure am. I knew that who wins the Irta test doesn't win the title, so i
let SFW take it lol. I didn't want to push hard in that test, i told
Vouks to do the same so we won't lose the chance for the title before
the season even started. I know how stupid that sounds but it proved
correct, in 6 years nobody who took the Irta could win the title. First
race came at Qatar and i was very fast in practice, i could beat SFW.
But the official came and i couldn't do the same lap times as in
practice, the first race of the year is always hard for me, long time
since i did an official race and i was a bit stressed and afraid of
making stupid mistakes so i came in 2nd, behind SFW. Motegi was next,
again i was fast in practice and in official race i crashed on the
brakes without a warning or anything, i could have finished in top2
that race. After the official we hosted other guys and i did the race
by braking with keyboard, first time since Valencia in previous year. I
could beat the hot lap time and also SFW's victory time. Then i
realized i made a big mistake to brake with a pedal so i changed
to braking with keyboard again. I was faster this way and at least i
didn't crash on the brakes. Jerez came and i was very fast there but i
had some bad luck and broke my hand lol. I had to do the race with a
hand in ghips. I still could be pretty decent but not as fast and
consistent as in practice. Again SFW won, this time he was lucky. Le
Mans was very bad, i just couldn't be as fast as i wanted. SFW was
stronger in this race and he deserved the victory without doubt. After
these 4 races, SFW had 4 wins, i had 3 2nd places and a crash. I was
thinking the same as most of the people here, the title was already
lost for me. And man... we were wrong, big time. Mugello came and my
confidence was out the toilet. But i was lucky, SFW didn't practice and
he was away with his bike so he couldn't race in the same room with me.
I won my room and hosted him later, without practice he was slower than
me and that meant my first victory of the season. That was all i
needed, a bit of confidence. I remembered it was a very similar
situation with Skider back in 2006, he won the WSS and then his first
title in MGP after a bad start. Then i decided to give everything i
had, push hard, i was already far behind in the standings, 32 points
after Le Mans. I had nothing to lose, only to gain. I took victory at
Catalunya, SFW crashed and that let me get more points from him than i
expected. Then Assen came, i wasn't the fastest in 1 lap but i was the
most consistent rider. Vouks had to race early and he did an amazing
hot lap and for that i think he deserved to win. Tho his total time
wasn't so great and i knew i could beat him. But in official i was very
stressed, i don't know why but i couldn't match my pace from practice.
I lost the race by only 0.1s and i'm sure i could have won it if Vouks
would have raced in our room. That made me think twice about the rules
because it's not fair to lose like that. Laguna Seca was next, actually
the next 3 races were my strongest point of the season and i knew that,
i had to do my job well and fight like a dog for every place and point.
Laguna was quite easy, once i took the lead the gap just increased to
the following group, and what a group, 2 hungry for victory world
champions. I had to thank Skider for beating SFW and giving me 4 extra
points. Next was Sachsenring, a track i've always liked, and this time
it was dry, just the way i liked it. Because i knew from previous year
in the rain i had no chance. The official was again easy, i could do
few fast laps and many safe laps and still won by almost 3 seconds.
Then Donington came and it was wet! I knew i could win both in the wet
(like in 2007) and also in the dry (like in 2008) and each time at a
good gap. This time tho, SFW raced earlier and he did an amazing total
time. In practice in 2007 i had better total times than his race now
but to do that in official, very hard. Official came and i was pretty
stressed, even if in practice i was 3 seconds better than SFW's total
time, in official, specially in the race, it was always a totally
different situation. I was also lucky, somebody had to rejoin the room
after qual and the starting grid was mixed so i started last, second
row so that gave me almost a second advantage in total time. Next few
laps were very bad and i was very stressed but once the stress was gone
i could put in some decent laps and i knew i was leading in the last
few laps, i just stayed safe on the bike and took the victory. I think
this was the hardest ever victory for me, specially because i was
fighting with the lap times, not with a rival (since SFW raced early).
I had my objective completed, i wanted victory in those 3 tracks and
got them. The next 3 tracks tho were all bad for me, i didn't like any
of them so my goal was to be in top2 in all of them, maybe take 1
victory. Brno, the worst track from the calendar for me, i don't know
how, maybe the others were just slow so i could win there, i think that
was the most important victory for me this season because i was able to
win on the worst tracks, not only on the ones i like. Then Indy came, i
knew i was fast in the wet there but in the dry i wasn't as fast as
others. Tho this year i could do some decent laps and in official i
wasn't fast, i was mediocre but i guess others were even slower. Again
i thank Skider for beating SFW so another extra 4 points. If last year
i crashed in both races in the USA when i was leading, this year i took
it easy and took my revenge and deserved wins. Misano next, last year
SFW beat me very bad, around 5 seconds, one of the worst tracks coming
up. In official Skider took a great start and was leading by almost 1
second in the first lap. I also got hit a bit and had to escape from
the pack of riders. I did that in the first lap and then i just had to
catch Skider. That wasn't so easy tho i could manage it with few laps
to go. Then i put in some great laps and could escape from Skider but
he came back in the last lap so i was a bit stressed, surprise was that
he crashed on the brakes in the last corner, it was a pity, i think he
deserved that 2nd place. Also this was a great feeling, i didn't have a
fight like that with Skider since almost 2 years ago in 2007. My
objective was to be in top2 and maybe 1 win for these past 3 races but
i won them all. That's when i became almost sure the title was mine
this year, after Misano i had a good feeling, 6 wins in a row and title
just a matter of time. Estoril next, one of my favorite tracks, maybe
the most. I had a good feeling in practice but in official i couldn't
match my pace from practice so SFW could stay close to me all race. At
the end i was slow, also a bit stressed so he was in front. In the last
lap i could catch him back but we hit and i lost a bit of time there at
the start of the lap. Again i managed to catch him and again we hit,
this time on the brakes and i was lucky i didn't crash. I tried to
catch him again but it was impossible, the damn no-coll file decided
the race for us. I don't know what would have happened without the
no-coll file but surely i would have had a good chance of winning.
Phillip Island was next and i knew it was going to be a very hard race
for me, i lost the title there in 2007. This year tho, i could do
better, i wasn't very fast in 1 lap but i was very consistent and in
official SFW took the lead but after putting some good laps in, i could
reduce a 1 second gap, pass him and also taking the lead with a small
advantage, all in 1 lap. Then i surprised myself and did some very good
consistent laps and took my first ever victory at the great Phillip
Island circuit. I knew i was going to win the title at Sepang but i
enjoyed the title at Phillip Island, even if it wasn't mine yet.
Celebrations were both for victory and also for title, after this race
i could have that feeling i've been waiting for since 2004, it tasted
like double victory, like a title. I needed only 2 points from the last
2 races but i had huge connection problems at Sepang and i didn't know
if i was going to race. I finally made it work on Monday and was able
to take the title on track with a second place finish. In this race
maybe i could have had a chance to win if it wasn't for those
connection problems but i doubt it, SFW was simply better, i was happy
i could finish the race, even if it was 2nd. I didn't think too much
about the title, i was still affected by everything that happened
during Sepang, all those problems.
Valencia:
I've always liked to finish the season on a high, to take victory at
one of my best tracks, Valencia. I took victory there for the past 3
years and i wasn't going to have any other objective than to win. I
can't say it was different from previous years, maybe just less
practice. In that practice i was very fast and consistent but official
came and SFW was stronger than i expected. He made a small mistake in
the first laps so i could have a 1 sec advantage. By mid race he could
close the gap a bit and when i finally decided to grow some balls and
push very hard to escape, he decided it was all too much and gave up by
going for a picnic in the grass. I knew at that time the victory was
mine, even if there were 3-4 more laps to go. I could take it easy but
then i remembered i didn't have the hot lap so i pushed again but a
part of me didn't want to risk the victory so i couldn't push as hard
as i wanted so i just focused on finishing the race. Victory at over 5
seconds, maybe the biggest gap in over 1 year and the biggest gap in a
race i win since 2004 Johor, again after a race in which SFW crashed.
Now i have 4 wins in a row at Valencia and i'm the only rider to have
that many at any track. I also have 3 at Donington which is a better
track for me, i'm stronger there and i'm very sad they removed it from
the calendar for the next years. There i have 6 pole positions in a
row, all the poles from each year since the champ begun in 2004 and i'm
very happy with that, any records are good.
Conclusion:
Now i have to look forward to have some fun in WSS because MGP has been
very hard. And i still can't believe that after SFW took 4 wins in a
row in the first 4 races of the season, after all the problems i had
with braking with a pedal and crashing, broken hand, losing because of
racing in different rooms, losing because of no-coll file and losing
because of internet connection, i still won the title with 10
victories. If somebody told me this before the season started i doubt i
would have believed it. I guess it was just my time, when i deserved to
win i did, on tracks i like and also on tracks i don't like. Many wins
came on tracks where i never won before and i guess that was the key
point to winning this title. About the other riders, if you want to
improve and come closer to me, i think it's obvious you have to
practice as much as me or even more and i did in general 25 practice
races for each track. Around 2 hours per day for 1 week before each
race. 2 hours might sound much but it's not much considering it's the
game we love, it's not something people can't do if they really want it.
Per total i'm happy with the season, 10 wins and 16 podiums.
I've been very consistent in the past 3 years and a half. Since i
started to use a pedal for acceleration there have been 64 races. In
which i had 25 victories, 53 podiums, 34 pole positions, 22 hot laps
and 1610 points, at every single statistic much better than my
rivals. After all this hard work and good results, i think i deserved
the title now, specially after 10 wins only this season. I want to say
big thanks for everybody who took part in the championship, the
community is the most important thing. I want to thank Skider for
beating SFW in few decisive races and giving me the chance to extend my
lead in the standings. I want to thank my rivals for pushing me to this
level, specially SFW who was very strong for the past 2 years (we have
same number of wins in these 2 years, 16 each but i have 1 more
podium). I want to thank my team mates Guishermo, Transalp and Gabi461
for helping us win the Team's title again. I want to thank Yamaha for
the great bike they've provided, 16 wins from 17 races is by far a
record. So thank you, congratulations and see you on track in WSS and
next year in MotoGP."
Vouks MVM
Racing Team (2nd, 16:21.876):
"I started to race in this champ in the middle of 2005 and 2 days ago
already 2009 season is coming to an end, maybe if you have fun years go
very fast away.
So Congratulations to Seby for the championship and thx for making (i
think) the most work for this champ. GG to JC for taking class A by 1
point from Mircea and sure also gg to you m8. GG for Atman not only for
taking class B but also for having always an eye open on all the stuff
from the forum and do professional host rooms to help riders to have
fun. GG Pity for class C and big GG to GVG for rookie off the year, a
very special title from my view. Now about my season from statistics
and podiums looks that it's the best year so far for me, but my feeling
was not like that. MVM did start with a very strong team (Mgr, Max) and
also some new riders (Tolis, John) but was not for long because of many
things that happened and it's better to leave it behind and look
forward. So as i say we start the season with many GREEK riders but at
the end i was alone with less fun in races, so 4th in team standings is
not bad.
For 2010 no plans yet for me but for championship i hope that many
riders who not race this year will come back and so we go up again to
35 or more riders in every race. That means more work for the admins
but we all are here to help if that makes ppl happy.
Again a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGG THX to all who make this champ..."
fabbsan
Motonline Racing Team (4th, 16:25.414):
"GG Seby for your title, you were really strong this year and complete
deserve it and GG too for final podium guys, SFW and Vouks.
Big GG to my team mate JC who did a strong champ too with his Class A
title and the 3rd place in team standing we got together.
For my 1st complete season, my goal was to do a final top5 and a
podium, i'm so happy because i finished 5th with 3 podiums and 1 pole,
these are more that i expected at the start.
At the beginning of the champ my goal was to improve my pace to be able
to fight with fast riders, i could do it after few races and i
understood how to ride to be faster. My first podium was really lucky
because all riders were slow and i could get the 2nd place. In the
middle of the season, i was a bit bored because i've got the pace but
wasn't consistent enough, i did races without fight and without fun, i
crashed at Laguna Seca and did some races alone before official dates
because of vacation.
In September my motivation was up and i wanted to fight with the tops
riders, i could do 2 more podiums and 1 pole for few tenths which
really enjoyed me.
I have no regrets in the 2009 champ, it was a really good one for me,
it's only a shame that no more riders took part in it. If Luke, Creisi,
Thunder, Gabi46, Bradders, Down, Transalp and more could do all races
this champ should be much better and fun. Anyway, big thanks to all
participants in this champ who make it possible.
My goal for 2010 champ will be to do a top 3 in the standings and to
win a race but i know it'll be a really, really hard work considering
the strong riders as Seby, SFW (particularly) and also Skider, Vouks,
Guishermo, and Down, but my main goal will be to fight from the 1st to
the final lap and get a lot of fun and adrenalin, then i hope to be
consistent enough to be able to enjoy all races. See you all in 2010!"
SFW Yamaha
England-Netherlands (5th, 16:26.403):
"Congratulation to Seby with winning another race and the championship.
Valencia was always hard for me to be competitive and when i did my
first practice session with Seby and Vouks and it was clear to me that
it's going to be a challenge to fight for the win. After some more
practice and some setup changes I've started to get up to speed and
even consistency was ok. In the race I got a good start but then made a
little mistake which allowed Seby to take a little advantage but in
first half of the race I was a bit faster and could close the gap. Then
when it was time to make my move on Seby I did a poor lap and next lap
I've crashed in the 2nd corner, the crash really caught me by surprise,
i was already thinking about the next corner and the bike went down.
Too bad because I was looking forward to fighting with Seby all the way
to the finish line.
For me this season was very much different compared to last year. Last
year I've finished on podium every race and this season my performance
wasn't consistent. It was strange to win first 4 races, it felt a bit
too easy and I guess after those race I've lost the motivation to
practice very hard. Then at Mugello i did one of my best races with
very little practice but then the next 3 races is where Seby won the
championship. Catalunya I was distracted by non working force feedback
on my wheel and crashed, Assen was by far my worse race in many years
and Laguna I got stuck behind Skider and could only watch Seby win the
race. From there on Seby was on a high and was unstoppable, many have
tried and failed, it was only at Estoril when I did a good race and got
a bit help from no-coll to finally prevent Seby to win a race.
We all can agree that Seby is a well deserved 2009 Motogp500online
winner and now we have to think really hard to figure out how we are
going to stop him in 2010.
I want to thank everyone who participated this season and I hope to see
you all back in 2010.
Also thanks to my team mate GVG for racing all season long and
improving all the time. Too bad we lost Dolz, I hope he comes back some
day."
JC Motonline
Racing Team (6th, 16:29.603):
"Amazing season!
GG Seby for your victory!
And special thx for Mircea and GVG because it was a crazy season very
close on each track, the standings changed and there was a lot of
fighting during races.
So I finish first in Class A and I'm very happy.
My team mate, fabbsan, finished 5th and the Motonline Racing team is
3rd so these are very good results.
Thx Atman and Seby for host during championship and for the
organization.
I hope see you on WSS for some fun."
Mircea Lords
Of Shadow II (8th, 16:39.707):
"GG to JC for winning class A, it was nice to ride with you, also GG to
GVG for being a strong opponent (specially the race in Jerez where it
was very exciting at the end of the race), which makes it fun to
compete this champ knowing that you have opponents who are at the same
level as you. I still think it's not so bad because I finished 7th,
much better than last year when I was 12th. It is true that i did some
very stupid mistakes that could be seen at the end in the standings.
For proper 2009 was more exciting than last year with many overtaking,
I have learned a lot and I hope next year to show it in the results. I
want to thank Seby for support in this championship and and also those
who participate and make the champ possible from the last rider to the
first, for next year I hope to be more riders."
Holy Ducati
Corse Team CZ (10th, 16:50.756):
"Well, I am not even disappointed of the anticoll bug I had with Atman
in third turn of the race. It made me push really hard! Despite having
only few minutes of practice, I did decent lap times and were very
consistent. It was fun fighting my way through other riders to the
first place of our room. Wonderful race!"
SPIDEY Team
Sask Ducati (11th, 16:54.716):
"Feel sorry for Atman and Holy with their collision at the beginning of
the race, they like went opposite ways into the grass,
Been away from racing for so long has had its toll on me, i was
physically exhausted after the first lap, i generally don't lead, and
when i found myself leading at the end of lap one, i was very nervous,
i couldn't concentrate on doing decent laps, i struggled to get Pity
off my back, and then soon Atman and Holy were on my tail, Atman showed
his tyre in front several times, but Holy was very powerful, like
Pedrosa, he overtook both Atman and me very easily, from then i tried
to keep Atman behind, took defensive lines, and came out a few tenths
ahead, great epic race long battle. Great to be back, and i'm scared as
shit lol.
It was a great race, Holy i will challenge you soon, Gp500 ain't going
from my computer any more. Also great race by Blejz, m8 you are so fast
too, i look forward to battles in WSS, if i can keep up with your pace,
ah i'm so excited overall, i'm back forever lol.
Thanks Seby, SFW, Dolz, Atman for this championship.
Congrats to Seby for being the new WC!
Also JC, Atman, Pity for winning their respective classes!
Great year, feel bad for my long dry spell when i couldn't get XP back
(unfortunately i have a weird setup for my controllers, so need the
right drivers to work) but i finally put Vista again, so its looking
great."
Atman Asica
Racing Team (12th, 16:54.970):
"Yeah, Spidey, very nice long ever battle between us...in last corner I
believe that it will be tight on finish line, but I was too wide and I
had to slow down and the overtake was over. After all, it was a great
race between us all and it will make a nice video. Thanks for your
comeback!"
Pity Source
Team (15th, 17:24.198):
"I am really happy with the position in the race. I am 15th, and this
is my best position, but I know, that I could be 13rd. The race was
really good but unfortunately for me, that's a pity, that I did two big
mistakes. I started from the first row, and I had a really good start,
better then previous race. After contact between Atman and Holy, I lead
the group, and it was a nice feeling to be on the top in the race, but,
of course, Spidey passed me very soon, because he is a much better
rider then me. After that, I tried to stay in 2nd position in the race
and I had a good half of the race, Atman and Holy were also faster, so,
they passed me, and I was still on 4th, but in front of my big
competitors Kike, Jors and Bandit. But in the second half of the race,
I made a big mistake, when I was long on the brakes and I was out of
the track. It was about 5 seconds, and Kike passed me, so I knew, that
I am faster then Kike, so I tried to catch him and pass again, it was
good, because the gap was better and better for me, and on the finish
line, we were side by side, but, on the finish line, I made another big
mistake, when I was again long on the brakes. Maybe because of
slipstream, so I had a bigger speed and I didn't brake for the first
corner and it was really shame for me. So, I was again behind of Kike,
but only 3 laps to the end of the race, and I knew, that's impossible
to catch and pass him. So I tried to be only in front of Jors and
Bandit, and I was looking, that I finish the race without crash, but,
in final corner of the final lap of the season, I couldn't brake to the
final corner and I crashed at full speed, and I don't know what
happened with the brakes. You will see maybe on video what happened.
So, anyway, the crash was about only 5 second, so I finished the race
before the Jors and Bandit, but, I knew, that in the race in Valencia I
could to be on 13th position before the Kike, but I was faster then
Kike, but I made 2 big mistakes, so Kike was better in Valencia and I
have to congratulate to him for the best position of the season. Also
my objective was to be once in the top 15 and now, it has happened. So
I am happy with the position, but I am not happy with the race because
of my stupid mistakes. You know, in the QP I was also 15th. The same
position I had in fastest laps.
So, now summary of the season: I have to say, that I am really happy
with the final 23rd position in the standings and also with title in
MotoGP Academy. In the beggining of season, it was impossible to be in
top 20 because of many riders, and I was beginning I didn't have the
speed like others guys. From Qatar to Assen was really hard, and I was
always behind the points positions. From Assen I was regularly in top
20 and it was good for me and for my team, sponsorship, etc. Only the 2
races in USA were difficult for me. I did also great races in
Sachsenring (16th), in Brno (18th) and I think the my best of the
season was in Portugal (16th) because I did really good race. But the
end of season in WCH was a little difficult for me, Blejz and Holy,
because on the 1st of October we started to race in CTC 2009/2010 and
we were very busy, every Sunday, one race and you know, You have to
more practice, for CTC and also for WCH and it is hard because not
enough time. So, I also know, that I am weak in the wet races, in both
races (Donington and Sepang) I had one crash, so I have to improve my
riding in the rain. But anyway, for me is important, that I didn't
crash in the races more times and it is good for me and for next
season.
Now, I want to thank:
Atman - for hosting for all season.
Team Lords Of Shadow for delivery of setup for all season.
And also to USA for sponsorship.
I also signed the contract for next year between me and team Source
Lotus, so we will continue next year together, but we have money for
second rider, so, if there any rider, who wants to ride alongside me,
no problem, just write the email address and I will send the skins for
your number of bike and rider skin.
Thats all my friends, Now we can concentrate only for Czech Team
Championship 2009/2010, because in CTC is really good chance to be on
podium, and I What a season it was!"

"What a season it was.
It started of in Qatar were i finished 10th, in my first race. Despite
the problems then it was a good start. In Motegi i had a great fight
with Planas. I didn't won it but i had a lot of fun racing. However it
became more serious towards the end, fun is always the most important
thing, i think.
In the beginning of the season it felt i picked new opponents every
race. First in Qatar it seems to be a good fight for second in our
team. Motegi it was Planas, but in Jerez i left Planas behind me and
was able to fight with Mircea. That was a nice fight, like Mircea said
but he was too strong at that moment. Le Mans was great. I took my
first A-class win there and beat Mircea. Progress was made, but then
Mugello was a difficult race for me. Also Catalunya didn't went great
but it marked the first time i finished in front of SFW. With the eye
on my home-race in Assen we continued. By that time it became clear to
me that Mircea was my biggest opponent. He beat me in Assen and i
didn't like it. For the rookie title i was safe, so it seemed. No big
competition for me at all but this title does mean a lot for me. Other
goal at the moment was winning the A class, which i was leading. After
Laguna Seca i was aware that JC had joined the fight. I was ready, but
unfortunately technical problems hold me from racing at the
Sachsenring. I lost the lead in A class. No longer i could defend, i
had to attack. In a wet Donington i did a great qualifying. To bad
points are given only in the race, because in the tricky conditions i
was more focused on not crashing and was not consistent enough. Mircea
ended in front and JC close behind. It was really time to step up. I
needed to end in front of those two, if i wanted to win the A class. I
thought i had a good chance in Brno, and however it was a good race i
came to the conclusion Mircea and JC are just too fast for me. Indy
came and i prepared very good. I wanted to win. I needed a win. And i
won. I had a great fight with JC, one of the best of the season, and
also left Mircea behind me. This form i had to continue. Till Indy i
never had a finish higher then 10th. I finished 7th, some people left
the champ and i was able to finish in a high top 10.
At Misano i thought i had a disadvantage with keyboard, but i didn't. I
was faster then JC and Mircea and in official race i was in front of
them, controlling the race. With one lap to go my game froze and had to
re-race. Only i couldn't do the same times as before and ended behind
JC. A race i should have won. Estoril was for me the point i realized i
was a good starter. Only in this race i was a bit too eager, and i
ended in the grass in first lap. I couldn't catch Mircea and JC anymore
but i'm sure i could have fought with them. I did become official
rookie of the year then.
After Estoril i was no longer thinking about winning the A class. Just
having fun and, very important, holding this 7th place in championship
till the end.
My confidence was given a high boost at Phillip Island. It was my best
race of the season. I finished 5th and could stay with the top guys for
the first laps. It was a great result and i was very happy. About last
two races... Sepang i made some big mistakes in the wet conditions. It
was the first time i crashed in a race. With 15th place, it was also my
worst result of the season. In overall standings Mircea came to 7th and
i went to 8th. With same points as JC it all came down to the last
race, Valencia.
I had to give everything but i gave too much. Despite very good
practice and good times, it all went wrong in official. Due some
pressure my times were like half a second slower, and i was facing a
faster JC. Mircea was seconds behind me so perhaps i could hold this
8th place. But then 3 people had to end between me and Mircea. Very
unlikely because we finished almost every race next to each other. With
JC being faster i was also losing 8th place. After a stupid accident in
the race i had to re-race. But there was no chance. After 5 laps i gave
up, because of stupid reason, which is not important. After some
calculating, i came to the conclusion that if i raced or not i will be
9th, so it was a DNF for me.
It's sure not the way i wanted to end a season. Last two races gave me
a bad feeling and didn't give a good image of how this season was. I
made 3 very big mistakes, (Sachsenring, Sepang, Valencia), but i had
even more great races (Motegi, Jerez, Le Mans, Brno, Indy and for sure
Phillip Island). I learned a lot this year. I want to thank my team and
SFW for being very sportive. The first half of the season i had a very
consistent run 10th, 11th or 12th, that i couldn't do without the
team's help. Second half of the season the results became even better
and i learned to setup my own bike. Still suck at setup, but at least
now i know what everything means. Perhaps i could have done better if..
and if.... No iffing. This is how it went and went great! For next year
i will switch my keyboard for pedals. Want to see if i like that. If i
will be in this team next year i don't know but for sure i will be
racing. I'm a better rider now and hopefully the result in Phillip
Island shows my potential for next season.
At last, i want to thank Seby for the great work he does to organize
this champ. Also Atman does a great job keeping this champ alive.
Thanks to everyone who raced this season, except the guys who gave up
during the season!
Hope for more people next season. Thanks for the congratulations for
winning Rookie title. Thank you, JC and Mircea for a great fight.
Perhaps the best fight of the champ, it was very close all the time. GG
to JC for winning A class and Seby for the title. Now looking forward
to have some fun in WSS!g A class and Seby for the title. Now looking
forward to have some fun at WSS!"

"First of all, I wish to congratulate Seby for winning the
championship, but my attention was caught by the final positions of
those riders who were once my direct opponents and now probably much
faster than me. So congratulations also to Mircea, JC and GVG.
fabbsan did the best job I've ever seen after 10 years of Gp500.
And now few words to my team mate: Spidey the Ducati is a bike too
"wild" for us... a Yamaha will help us to do better next year."

"Big win for Seby and well done to Vouks and Skider!
I couldn't race this time, because i have a flu virus and i needed the
rest, maybe if the race was next weekend or if i lived in Europe lol,
then i would have done it... but i couldn't stay up late this time...
and i was pretty sure i was safe for 11th in the championship... which
i am, it's my best result ever in this championship by a long way, so i
look forward now to next year and i will try to improve (and hope that
the 2010 physics will favor me as much lol).
Thanks to all for a great enjoyable season yet again, and especially to
Seby for organizing it all!"
