  News 13/06/2010  Round 5 : Mugello

fabbsan took his 2nd victory of the season at Mugello, while Vouks took the standings lead for the first time in his career after he was 2nd tonight, SFW was 3rd. Seby lost some ground in the standings by finishing 7th after a nasty crash.

Interviews:

fabbsan Lords Of Shadow (winner, 16:12.152):
"Who can believe it. Not me, i would have paid at the beginning of the champ to get 2 wins after 5 races lol. I'm really happy for this hat trick (pole, 1 more, hot lap and victory), probably the first and last of my life...
It was a good race for me, i could leaded quickly and improved my gap with Vouks at the beginning of the race. With a clear track in front of me, i could concentrate on my ride and get some med-high 36, but Vouks came back on me and specially when i went wide and touch the grass, he was on my ass. I keep concentration and try to ride as proper as i can and particularly in my team8 Seby's corner to get some regular lap time in mid 36. This way i could improve my gap to Vouks lap after lap without taking any risks until the finish line. SO GREAT, YESSSSSS
For sure this race could have been different if Seby didn't crashed and if we had fight all together, i watched the replay and i've seen many mistakes from many riders cos of fighting.
I could ride faster too in this race, i found another setup and could ride in 16.08, same as you Seby, but it wasn't necessary to take any risks in this race m8, same as SFW at Le mans, for sure i'll prefer have a fun and hard race even if this one wasn't easy too.
GG to Vouks, 1 more podium, to SFW for the podium and to all of you.
Sorry to Mgr cos he didn't finished his race and lost some points.
Next races would be very hard with this damn fast room, thx all.
See you at Silverstone."

Vouks Greece Racing Team (2nd, 16:14.886):
"Congratulation Fab for WIN, POLE, HOTLAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Seby say i hope that a win will come for me soon because if not i will change my name to Andrew Pitt or Emilio Alzamora lolololololol. Off course gg to SFW who looks that if he train he win easy and if not he have more fun to keep a good position because the riders in our room this year is almost same fast. About the race now after half first lap Fab was leading (Seby did say all week he will crash and he did it very fast) and i was 2nd and i was sure that i will catch him sooo sure that i lost him finally. In first laps behind me was my team8 Mgr and i was dreaming for 2 Greeks on podium no matter in which order but was not to happen this time because of bad luck and mistakes from him, np this podium is close m8. After that on my pit board i saw Skider behind me, next split i saw SFW ,after some laps Luke WTF there was a party lolololol. Greece Team (Vouks, Mgr, Luke, Max) goes up to 2nd in the team standings and hope be further up in few races Lords 3some hahhahahah.
If somebody comes and shoots and goes away again (hope not lololol) then his name change from Max to FantoMax lolololoolGG m8. About our 2nd team now Arch and Wolf do ok at the time and Sk and Tolis will improve i am sure...........
Finally Seby was right to say that this game give us fun even if it is 12 years old lolololool
See you all in Silvestrone..."

LuKe Greece Racing Team (5th, 16:18.495):
"Congrats to all Podium Guys !
My Race was not really fast, especially the first laps were slow. In the middle of the Race im going to concentrate hard, and had some good fights with SFW.
It was just hard to fight side by side with SFW couse he was a bit laggy, and it was hard to concentrate. In the last lap i was thinking, that it was a good chance to get a podium when i smelled SFW´s exhaust gases
After that last chicane i was near behind him, but than i brake to late and run off in that last corner. Anyway i finished 5th and had a funny race.
See ya all at Silverstone!"

Guishermo Lords Of Shadow (4th, 16:16.431):
"First of all congrats to Fabbsan for the win, to Vouks for the 2nd and the leading in the champ and to SFW for that 3rd place.
Mugello is a track in which i have always been fast, in the past two years i have started the champ quite badly and since Mugello i have been much faster, i hope this year happens the same... the practice went better than in previous races and on the official race i had anticoll bug in the beginning of second lap and had to stop... in the warm up of the second race i felt stronger than ever, doing an incredible pace for me of 36.5-36.6 so i was pretty confident for the race... but in official was different, i did a crap race and never felt comfortable, especially with the last corner, in which i had a pretty good line and in the race lost a lot of time there... it was a shame because the podium was pretty close but anyway the race was bad so i think i didnt deserve the podium, i hope the keep on with this positive result in next races."

Seby Lords Of Shadow (7th, 16:23.662):
"Congratulations fabbsan for another victory! People didn't believe me when i said you have a good chance for the title, gg m8.
Also GG to Vouks for being the most consistent rider, 5 podiums from 5 races and standings leader for the first time ever, keep it up m8, maybe a victory soon?
Also gg (i guess) to SFW for 3rd lol, mostly for finishing in front of Guish and Luke, which seemed hard.
My practice was decent during the week, almost all top riders had similar pace. But by Sunday i could manage to improve my consistency and could do low 36s almost every lap and a total of 16:08 - 16:09. Even with mistakes i should have done a good race and a decent result. I took a decent race start and had the lead in the first corners, then fabbsan came close and we had a small fight and we were side by side in the Rossi corner (now it's Rossi-Seby corner lol) and i leaned too much on the left side and touched the ripple a bit and since the track has a bug there, i crashed. From there on it was simple and boring, no fights, just cruised around. If i had a rider within 4-5 seconds i would have pushed hard to catch up but all riders were at over 10 sec in front so no reason to risk and crash again. I just took the points and have to think about the next race. This is the 3rd race in a row when i make a big mistake or crash so i think it's time to end this bad luck and do some good results. Now i'm more eager than ever to do well and hungry for victory. I'm glad the difference is not big between the top4 riders, actually i think it's the smallest difference in points between the top4 riders after 5 races, which makes things much more fun than in previous years when we were only 2 or maybe 3. 2005 and 2007 were similar so it's good to see that we can still have fun and enjoy this great game, even after all these many years. Now time for Silverstone, not one of my favorite tracks (really? LOL) but will have to do, i'll push hard to get a good result.
Good luck to all at Silverstone."

Max Greece Racing Team (8th, 16:26.515):
"A big surprise for me... i had a very good race..the good point of this ,is that i practice a week ago on Vouks home about six hours..and thats all. Yesterday i practice 10 minutes and i race with Vouks setup... i like a lot this game... but i don't like to practice too many hours as top riders do... i haven't free hours for it... great fight DanDam!! congrats to an amazing FABBSAN and my team m8 VOUKS..i watch them live from Vouks house... amazing stuff!! Championship is on fire!! bud luck for my other team m8 MGR...cause of the damn kerbs. So, i hope to race in Silverstone to have a little more of fun hours with gp500. Tnx Seby for host..and again to Vouks."

DanDam Team Sask Suzuki (9th, 16:26.752):
"Who are Max and Rider!?!??!?!?!?!?!
Where do they come from?!?!?!?!
Where have they hidden in the last days!?!?!?!?
Why have they appeared just when my official race on my home track was on!?!?!?!?
They both influenced in different ways my result on the Mugello track!!!!
I did the best time on qualifying and i was second behind Seby, but Rider went to the pits after half of the track and the game recorded a time of 1.11.XXX for him. This probably messed the grid (because we were all over 107% of Rider's lap time) and I started 5th my official race.
I had the highest ping among the riders who were in the room and I expected to have a lot of laggy bikes around me. Luckily only Franky's bike showed a remarkable lag. Anyway most of the riders were in front of me after the first corner as consequence of my 5th position on the grid.
I thought it was too risky trying to overtake them while they were still close one to each other and i decided to wait. The pace was very slow, because they all fight and made mistakes and I could not take any advantage on them because it was confusing and i must not crash this time.
On the second lap i finally conquered what i thought to be the first position, but suddenly i realized i was only second!!!!!!
MAX was in front of me and he had a remarkable gap of 2,5 seconds!!!!!
Lap by lap i got closer to him, even though the pace i had was below my real potential. Until the half of the race our gap kept constant, then it began to reduce. On the last lap i was just behind him, but i knew it was difficult to overtake him because he had a higher traction leaving turns (MGR, do you know anything about his setup ???). On the last turn i was in front but he caught me again as we started accelerating on the straight and i could not do anything to stay in front of him, though i caught his slipstream.
So i feel a bit disappointed of my race and i hope to be at least ninth in the final standings.
Cheers"

rezist Rezist Racing (10th, 16:27.486):
"Nice job fabbsan, Vouks and SFW for the podium.
This was a difficult race, always on the limit, with the bike and the track/curbs lol...so i was nervous before the race, near the end of qualifying i actually crashed on purpose, just to get it out of the way hehe.
And it worked! i had a good pace for the race and made few mistakes, so i'm very happy with that, but i expected better than 10th lol.
But it's a very close podium for Class A riders:
1. Max
2. DanDam +0.237
3. rezist +0.972
...which is a good improvement for me only 0.972sec from my first Class victory.
Silverstone i do not expect much because a ) its a new track, and b ) i don't like the layout lol...i would have preferred Donington but what can ya do...cya then."

Pity Source Team (16th, 16:53.588):
"Hello, it was really another good race, i did a good time in QP and i had a good position for the start of race. I had really lucky in the start, because the red Ducati did a jump start and I almost too. But he took penalty. Fortunately, i had a great start and i was in the first corner second behind him.
He did a mistakes in the first laps, i took a lead, and I finished the race on the 1st position. Alone race for me, but good points for championship.
Hopefully, that next race will be again by Seby. He has many riders in the group than Atman."

Paul Source Team (19th, 17:08.736):
"Oh where do i start...
My start of the race was bad. But 1st lap when i crossed the start/finish line i was 2nd.
Made a mistake in the first corner, went in gravel so have to start again ..gap was 1,.5 sec to Atman. Closed that gap in 1 lap. So was again 2nd. Pity was then 1st. Tried to closed the gap. All that laps i was 2 tenths quicker except in the last lap. The last chicane before last turn. I saw it coming. I turned to quickly when on curb and i crashed, Atman passed me... last turn i made a mistake again... I wasn't concentrated anymore.
But if i must complete the race in one word: Good!"

Serch Malboro Ducati (DNF):
"It was a terrible race for me, i blew the start making a false start when the red light when "on" instead of "off".... i tried to gain as much as i could on the first lap before going for stop and go penalty but the high curbs on the corners of the "refreshed" track are high and way more slippery compared to the old ones so i was pretty much last when going to the pits after first lap. I did the 5 sec stop and go left the pits and i kept on going trying to close the gap, on the first laps of leaving pits I've manged to close the gap to only 18seconds clocking 1.41 in the mean time (the quickest time I've done during the weekend). After that i crashed on one of the curbs and i was pushing it too hard, making lots of mistakes. On 4 or 5 last laps something broke and my lap time kept on going even tho i was crossing the start-finish. I was unable to get last finish-line as i had lost about 1 min to the first person and they just finished the session.
Later on i was hoping for re-race in the 4th group but I've started watching tv and i missed it.
Anyways Mugello is the most well known circuit for me too bad i made so many mistakes and blew it, hopefully next year I'll do better.
Thanks for hosting Seby and Atman."

SPIDEY Team Sask Suzuki (DNS):
"Firstly, I'd like to apologize for my absence. I have lost crucial ground to blejz. Unfortunately my router got corrupted a few days before official and had to perform a complete reset. I thought i brought back the required settings to connect properly, but i was unable to see session in both attempts (via regular ip and hamachi). Im dissapointed, for my team will not score enough points.
Looks like my team mate dandam had fun which is good. Hope for another strong finish. PK-PK was up for the race, which is good, but he had trouble with setting up the track. My fault. I should have gotten things set up for him as well.
Anyways, overall I'm sad for i have missed my first race (and last). Will be back strong for next race to make up for missed points.
Sry Seby, i heard u were looking for me in the end, but i couldn't connect.
GL in results ev1."
