Round 8 : Catalunya
Seby blasts to victory once again
to extend his standings lead to 16 points over team mate fabbsan who
was 2nd tonight in Catalunya. SFW came in 3rd after he was 2nd most of
the race chasing Seby but a late mistake from the Dutch Devil gave the
2nd place to fabbsan and Lords Of Shadow complete yet again another 1st
and 2nd in the race and also in the standings.

"Congratulations to the rest of the podium, specially to fabbsan for
taking 2nd and also to SFW for 3rd.
Big GG to Max for 5th, i told you a week ago that if you keep
practicing you can get a top5 result.
Also gg to Mari for his best result so far and victory in class B.
And gg to Wolf and Spanky for their first points this season.
Practice didn't go so well for me, i was behind my rivals this time.
Vouks was doing 33.3 even from a week ago while i was doing 33.4 on
race day so i was a bit worried. Also fabbsan was very fast in
practice, 1-2 seconds faster than me in total time. I didn't know what
SFW was doing but i knew he was very fast in the past at this track so
i was thinking that he would be very fast too. I didn't have much hopes
for this race, i was thinking that i would be lucky to be on the
podium. I had to change the setup and use a very risky setup on the
brakes, at least to fight for the first positions.
The race came and again i took a good start, the first 3 laps were just
like in practice while the rest of the guys again were slow, same as at
Assen, i had a 1 second advantage after 2-3 laps so i was pretty happy
by that moment. Few laps later i saw that SFW overtook fabbsan and the
next lap i went wide in a corner and lost 0.5 so SFW came very close
behind me. The gap stood the same for few laps and with 4 laps to go
when i had 0.3 or so in front, i decided to push very hard, not to make
the same mistake i did at Assen when i did safe laps and allowed SFW to
catch me. I did 33.4 - 33.5 for few laps and before the last lap i had
0.8 advantage over SFW. Then i saw him disappear and fabbsan was behind
me and i just took it easy and crossed the line, that 0.8 advantage
before the last lap was enough to take the victory with a safe last
lap, no matter how hard SFW would have pushed, i doubt he could have
done 33.0 or 33.1 to pass me.
Except that little mistake when i lost 0.5, the race was almost
perfect, fast and consistent laps, it was my best race this year. The
total time is only 0.5 slower than what i did in practice when usually
i'm 1.5 - 2 sec slower than in practice. I'm very happy to win at
Catalunya again, it's a very good track and with these 2 victories i
have a small but good advantage over my rivals and i can go to vacation
relaxed.
The next 2 races are maybe my best tracks, Sachs and Laguna, tracks i
really love. I'll come back relaxed and ready to push hard and keep my
lead in the standings, even increase it if i can.
Also want to thank fabbsan for his good result, we were 1st and 2nd in
the race and now we're also in the standings so i'm very happy.
Have fun in vacation guys, 3 weeks break now. We'll see each other with
3-4 days before Sachs, who wants to do that race early, will have to do
it until the next Sunday (25th of July)."

"GG Seby for another victory after a really good race and thx SFW for
giving me the 2nd place.
I'm really disappointed about my race, surely my worst race of the
season, i could fight for the win here but i wasn't able to ride in low
33 like in practice, i was consistent in high 33 during the first half
of the race (5 laps in 33.9 lol and 1 in 34.1 WTF) i only could do med
33 at the end of the race, and i don't know how i could get the hot lap.
3rd place should have be mine here, SFW deserved 2nd place more than me
because he was 2nd all the race and went to the grass in the last lap,
sorry for you.

Racing Legends (3rd, 17:20.731):
"Congratulations to Lords of Shadow boys with the 1-2 victory.
Seby was just amazing and there was no chance for me to take the win.
My start was ok but again I was too careful in the first lap and it
took me some time to get up the speed. I was riding on the limit to get
close to Seby but he rode very good and gave me no chance/hope to fight
for the win, I could only put some pressure on but it was useless and
once I was very close and by braking very late I wanted to show my bike
in his screen to make him nervous but went wide and lost 0.5 sec. On
the last lap the gap was about 1 sec and i gave up so took it easy to
finish 2nd but then lost concentration and went off track and was lucky
to finish 3rd.
Last 2 races I was very strong but didn't get the results that I
hoped/deserved, next 2 races are just about the worst tracks for me and
it will be hard to fight for podium. Maybe with some luck Seby will
crash and I won't loose too many points."

Racing Team (7th, 17:30.315):
"Congrats Seby for the win again and to the other podium guys fab and
SFW.
I think that was my worst Race this season, i did so many mistakes, but
my Speed was not bad. In second lap i crashed when i fought with Seby
at the lead.
After that i did some good laps and the gap between me and Mgr went
smaller but in the middle of the Race i went off and lost important
time again. At the end i did one more run off and ended the race 14 sec
behind. I think 14 seconds behind is okay, because of the time i lost
in the race.
Now my Home- GP on that hard track.

Sask Suzuki (8th, 17:31.121):
"After the crappy race at Assen, where many mistakes resulted in a
large final gap from the winner, I needed to do well on the Catalunya
circuit.
One week only to practice was not good news, but this track fits to my
riding style and I started riding in mid 34's soon. I was very
surprised when I realized my lap times were "only" about 1 second
slower than top riders ones.
I thought that my main rival would have been Max. He was. We both took
the lead of the race soon, but I was 5-6 tenths behind him,since in the
first lap a couple of slower riders made me lose time before going wide.
We both rode on 34.5 and the gap between us kept more or less the same
till the 6th lap, when I went wide on the 4th turn. I used to brake
just before the 150 signboard, but on the 6th lap I mistook the 100
marker for the 150 one, and i braked 50 meters later.
I didn't crash but i lost about 5 seconds.
From then on I only thought to ride as fast as i could, just to can
take advantage in case of an even little Max's mistake.
I did 34.4-34.3-34.4 and the gap between Max and me reduced to 2
seconds. He rode on safe 35's when I went wide and he did not make any
mistake.
I don't really know how it would have ended if i didn't do that stupid
mistake. Max's riding style is closer to that of the top rides than to
that of the middle class riders. Though his lines were not perfect, it
seemed he could ride easily in 34.5. His acceleration is much more
efficient than mine.
So I feel very disappointed mostly for my total time. Perhaps for the
first time it would have been less than 12 seconds far from the winner."

"Well done Seby starting to take charge of the championship now... and
a good job by fabbsan + SFW.
I knew before the race that turn 7 might cause problems for me...hard
braking, off-camber...... and sure enough, i crashed there on lap
9!...and i lost 12 seconds because i restarted on the grass.
Apart from that i was very happy with my race, after i had a bad start
in the first attempt (game froze after 5 laps) but the second time i
started a lot better and could do some good lap times...
It's a shame i crashed but these things happen...
So now i look forward to Sachsenring, i'm making a new
higher-resolution track skin atm so i'll hopefully upload it here in
case someone wants to use it."

Standings lead to 16 points to fabbsan after taking another victory,
2nd in a row and 3rd of the season. fabbsan came in 2nd place tonight
and moved up to 2nd in the standings so the Lords Of Shadow are 1st and
2nd in the standings for the first time in history.
SFW is 3rd, 18 points behind Seby with Vouks 4th, 14 points behind the
Dutch Devil.
Lords Of Shadow are leading the Team Standings from Greece Racing Team
by 62 points and by 87 points the NoGrip Racing
Legends team. These are the only 3
teams fighting for supremacy.
Yamaha is leading
the Constructors Standings by 56 points to Suzuki and 152 points to
Ducati.
