Rules 2011

To
join the MotoGP
2011 Championship: See
the Requirements
page.
Wet Races:
During
the season we could have wet races.
This will depend if there are any wet races in real MotoGP.
Then we will do that same round as a wet race.
Before the race you must change your GPP
file to the wetGPP.
The wet physics used are made by FRA.
Racing
Rules:
Race
distance is 100% in MotoGP. Qualifying
is between 5 and 15 minutes (or 3 sessions of 5 mins).
All
fast riders can be asked for a ghost with a similar lap time as their
best lap from that racing weekend by the Racing Director. Also
medium/slower riders could be asked if they go faster than usual.
Riders will be able to send the ghost via MSN or Mail until Monday
after that GP at 20:00 GMT, before the results will be on the site.
Riders who will refuse to send the ghost will be disqualified from that
GP. Riders who won't send the ghost three times during a season, will
be
disqualified from the championship. Also riders who will be much slower
in the ghost than in the racing weekend, will be disqualified from the
GP. This is to prevent cheating and to prove to everyone that nobody
cheats and everything is nice and fair.
No walking backwards
on start line to get a flying start. No burnout is allowed at the start
(don't shift up to 1st gear until the lights go off). No stealing the
starts (start the race before the lights go off). Breaking any of these
rules will mean a penalty of 5 seconds.
Riders who enter the pits from the game menu during qualifying and mess
up the grid will have a 3 seconds penalty in the race and 1 second in
qualifying. Riders will do a second qualifying session of 5 minutes to
create an accurate starting grid.
No
deliberate
corner cutting. If it's done by accident (braked too late), you must show no
time gain and you must look back or the time
penalties will be between 1 and 10 seconds and disqualify
for any riders who cut corners
on purpose during the races.
If
everyone keeps
to the tarmac there can be no complaints of cutting bends.
Grassed and dirt areas are considered dangerous surface so done at
rider's risk.
When passing you must give plenty of room to the other rider, no
delibrate riding through your opponent even if you have non_coll.dk4
file, because some contact can still be made, especially in bends. The
idea behind using this file is to cut down on complaints of hitting
each
other in races. If a rider is hit by an opponent, he can make a public
complaint on the forum and the Race Director will take a decision after
watching the replay. If that rider is found guilty of passing through
the rider who made the complaint on purpose, can be penalized between 1
and 10 seconds.
If a rider jumps the start, the Race Director can give a penalty
between 3 and 10 seconds after watching the replay.
Riders who finish on the podium are
required to post an interview on
the forum on Monday after the race day. This will help the
administrators finish the news sooner.
If
you crash in race, don't give up, you
never know what could happen in other sessions. Fight to the end to get
a good result, don't act childishly.
Results
will be
done by race finish time, then added as more sessions have finished.
There will be different hosts, you can race with any of the official
hosts.
The
official hosts for every round of the MotoGP 2011 Championship
will be:
Seby
and SFW,
NO ONE else can host an
official race or the riders who are in the room will get DNF.
Race conditions: DRY, not Cloudy or Overcast conditions.
If the conditions are Cloudy or Overcast the host has to end the race
and restart.
If the host doesn't see that the race is Cloudy or Overcast, the riders
are asked to stop their bikes at the edge of the tarmac on the first
lap so the host will end the race and restart.
If you register with a manufactor you have to stay on that bike until
the end of the season in order to keep your points. If you want to
change
the bike in the middle of the season you will lose your current points.
Exceptions will be the riders who change teams but they will ride with
the same physics and bike model as before.
Remember
during your race anything could happen, if you lose your
connection or pc crash you will get another chance to finish the race.
A rider can get a second chance if his pc crashes, but if in the first
race he falls or makes big mistakes, when he remakes the race he will
have a time penalty
which will be decided by the Admins
after watching the replay. Riders who have connection problems (or
speed-ups) are asked to contact Seby if they want to gain back the time
they lose.
The time lost because of speed-ups will be given back but also a
penalty of 2 seconds. For example if a rider will lose 13 seconds
because of a speed-up, he will be given back 11 seconds.
If
a rider has problems during his
official race (lag, low fps etc) he
can park the bike outside the tarmac (best in the pits) and he will be
able to race again. Riders who quit the room on purpose because of
nerves after they fall etc, they will have a penalty of 10 seconds and
they risk to be disqualified from that race and also the next 1 to 3
races in case the room freezes and other riders lose their race (the
admins will decide). For example if a rider has problems at the end of
the race and decides to park the bike in the pits so he can re-race but
has made few mistakes (falls or grass trips) or is too slow compared to
the leader of the race until the moment he parks
the bike, he will have a penalty when he will re-race. The penalty will
be decided by the admins after watching the replay (usually the penalty
is exactly as many seconds as the rider lost in those mistakes). For
example if a rider
is slow in the first race because he makes many small mistakes, let's
say around 4 seconds behind the leader, he will have a penalty of 4
seconds in the 2nd race.
Riders who race alone will have these penalties:
a ) Who can't race in one of the official rooms won't be able to win
the race (in all classes and standings) or take pole and hot lap. This
will apply only to riders who announce it from time on the forum (with
at least 24 hours before the official rooms). This will apply to guys
who go in vacation (3 races per year) and have to race from time or to
guys who work on Sunday night etc. They will have 3 seconds penalty and
they will be no closer than +2 seconds from the winner and 0.2 sec in
qualifying and
hot lap (in case they do better total time or within 2 sec of the
winner, same for qual and hot lap).
b ) Who can't race in one of the official rooms and also doesn't
announce it from time on the forum (also connection or pc problems)
won't be able to win the race or finish on the podium (in all classes
and standings) or take
pole and hot lap.
They will have 5 seconds penalty and
they will be no closer than +3 seconds from the winner and 0.3 sec in
qualifying and
hot lap (in case they do better total time or within 3 sec of the
winner, same for qual and hot lap).
c ) Riders who have connection problems which will cause the room to
freeze will have a 5 seconds penalty if it's not done on purpose, only
if it's a connection problem.
Note: If a rider makes big mistakes (crash, goes to grass) or is too
slow and far behind the leader before being hit by another rider, he
will have penalty in the second race depending on how much time he lost
from mistakes (or being slow) in the first race. For example if a rider
is slow in the first race because he makes many small mistakes, let's
say around 4 seconds behind the leader, he will have a penalty of 4
seconds in the 2nd race.
d ) Hosts are not allowed to reopen rooms after qualifying if there are
more than 4 riders in the room (3 riders + host). Riders who quit
during qualifying will race later in another room and they will have
penalty of 3 seconds in the total time and 0.2 in qual and hot lap
(they
will be at +2 sec from the winner if they have the best total time).
This is fair for the riders who fight to start from pole so they won't
have to start from 7th or 8th or worse if the room reopens, it won't
affect their race.
The
replay has the priority when there
are mistakes in the game lobby
(a lap doesn't count, lobby shows wrong gap or total time, lap time,
etc).
Minimum
number of
rider's per session is 2, Maximum depends on host.
Hosts must have cheats set to NO in game
rules.
Hosts
are required to
take a screenshot of the Qualify,
Hot
Laps
(F3 button at the end of
the race), Final
Race Times in game
lobby and to save the race Replay.
Also you must have a large replay buffer in your gp500.ini
file so we can
verify all riders and make a video for each round's winner.
Preferably, screenshots should be in JPG format, and may be resized to
no smaller than 1024x768 pixels, also the best way is to pack the files
with winrar.
The winner's replay will be made available for download, also race
results are made subject to review of replay if someone reports
something untoward.
Admins'
decisions are final and no turning
back, if you dont agree with a
decision, post it on the Forum
and the Admins'
will explain the actions
taken.
If you insult any of the Admins
you
will be banned from MotoGP500online.

Teams:
Teams can have
maximum 4
riders per team, for Team Standings only the top 2 riders per team
(in each race) will recieve points for Team Standings.
This
makes it fairer for 1-2 man teams as there are some very strong 3-4 man
teams.
Racing Days:
Sundays will be
the only day to race for all rounds.
Riders outside Europe can play even on Saturday (all season long).
The Calendar
date
shows the only day (Sunday) available to race.
Send the 3 screens
and the replay to MotoGP500online@yahoo.com by 11 PM (GMT) on
Sunday.
The results will be on the site by 10 PM (GMT)
on Monday.
Ways to
improve online
game connection:
Shut as many programs in system tray as possible.
If your pc has been on for a long time, shut it down and restart.
Keep your system well maintained: defrag, scandisk etc.
Note: Read the Forum
for more details, before each round please visit the forum to see the
official hosts and
some other minor rules.
